The White’s Family Session

Syracuse, New York

Writing this blog post is bittersweet.  It is incredibly sweet getting to share photos of a family that has meant so much to us.  But, there is also sadness in that the White’s family session was taken three days before they moved to Colorado.

When I became a stay-at-home mom, I also started watching the White’s daughter, Pippa, while Ben and Karen worked.  Elizabeth and Pippa are only eight months apart and quickly became friends.  They love playing together with dolls, reading books, and sharing Cheerios.  Elizabeth would “help” Pippa with tummy time (basically sitting next to her, patting her back, and telling her “It’s OK, Pippa!”) and taught Pippa which blocks were good for chewing and which were not.  Pippa taught Elizabeth that pacifiers are good to chew on, no matter how old you are, and how to look for lost Cheerios deep under the couch.  Aside from the occasional fit of jealousy, it was an ideal friendship.

At the end of June, Ben and Karen both finished their medical residencies here in Syracuse.  Watching Pippa, we have seen the long hours and tremendous work they’ve put into their schooling, and are thrilled that they are now practicing doctors!  After graduating, the Whites moved to Colorado for Ben’s job and to be closer to their family.  We already miss seeing them every day and watching Pippa grow up. However, we are also incredibly thankful for this new chapter in their lives (and for a reason to go visit Colorado!).
