This post is a little late in coming (have I mentioned that October is a busy month for us?!), but I am thrilled to finally be able to share Jess and Dave’s engagement session! Their portraits included some of my favorite things: old friends, open fields, sentimental locations, and the most gorgeous golden light!
Jess and I met when we were both students at SUNY Geneseo, nine years ago! Jess is truly one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. She’s the type of person who makes those around her feel special and valued. Jess and David’s session felt more like old friends catching up than an engagement session. I genuinely had a wonderful time photographing the two of them!
When it comes to photography, it’s usually the woman who is more interested. That was not the case for these two! I can’t tell you how much fun it was to have both parties engaged and participating in the photos! It certainly made my job easier and resulted in photos with genuine emotion from both parties. Dave, you officially rock!!
I love how much thought and attention Jess and Dave gave to their session! We started Jess and Dave’s session at a field in Marcellus. Not only was the land gorgeous with long grass and wildflowers, but it’s also the site where the couple plans to build a house in the future! From there, we made our way to Skaneateles and visited the bench where Dave proposed, along with some of their other favorite locations. Talk about sentimental!
Choosing photos for this blog post was so difficult – there were so many great ones to choose from! Jess and Dave have such a strong connection as you can tell in the photos below. Here are some of my absolute favorites!
