Sisters Maternity Session

Geneseo, New York

Today’s blog post features a few familiar faces.  Remember how my husband Caleb comes from a family of eight children?  Well, this year three of his sisters are pregnant and expecting their babies only weeks apart!  Over the holidays we were able to do a quick sisters maternity session to capture this unique stage in our family.

Caleb’s family has always been very close knit, but we only get the whole group together about twice a year.  This holiday season it worked out that we would all be in town for New Year’s Eve.  Between opening gifts and eating delicious appetizers and snacks, we somehow managed to carve out some time to take a few photos of the three expectant mommas in the family.  Well, it turned out that the temperature that day was a balmy 9º F!  When you add it the windchill it felt more like -15º!  So, to keep ourselves (and the babies) from freezing, we only had about 20 minutes of shooting!  Thankfully, my sister-in-laws were troopers and kept smiles on their faces despite the cold!

Sarah (in grey), is expecting her second child in the middle of February.  She’s having a girl and we are all so excited!  Sarah’s son was a micro-premie, born at only 26 weeks, so we are praising God that this little girl has made it this far!  Heather (in white) is expecting her third baby girl in March!  Girls run strong in the Ludlow family, but it makes for a great time when they all get together!  Emily (in red), who lives all the way down in Georgia, is expecting her third child in early April.  She has a 5 year old son and a 2.5 year-old daughter, so this baby was the tie-breaker!  Well, the boys won!  Baby Titus (or Ty) is going to be such a sweet edition to our family!

The siblings wont be back together again until May, when Caleb’s sister Stephanie gets married.  By that point there will be a total of 9 granchildren, ranging from almost-5 to 3 weeks!  If children are a gift from the Lord, then count our family truly blessed!

Here are some of my favorites from this sweet (and cold!) sisters maternity session!
