It’s a Girl!

Syracuse, New York

This week marks the half-way point of this pregnancy!  The morning sickness is long gone (thank goodness!) and we’re well into the second trimester!  Maybe it’s having a two-year old to keep us busy, but it’s really hard to believe that 20 weeks have gone by already!

The second trimester has been going so much better than the first.  I’m back to my normal energy levels and have been able to enjoy all this beautiful weather with Caleb and Elizabeth.  I’ve also been able to feel this baby move for a few weeks now and it’s be fun to get to know this baby’s habits.

When I was pregnant with Elizabeth I was still working as an ultrasound technician, so I got to check on her all the time.  I knew what her average heart rate was on any given day.  I could see her wiggling around even before I could feel her.  And I could see that she was a girl a month before the official ultrasound made it clear.

This time has been so much different since I haven’t been able to scan myself.  While the not-knowing has been difficult (have I mentioned that I can be a bit impatient?), it’s also made us so excited to find out the gender of this baby!  Last week, we had our long-awaited 20 week ultrasound and were finally able to find out that…

It’s  a girl!

We’re so excited to be welcoming Abigail Joy Ludlow to our family in September!  We love this little wiggle worm so much!   Elizabeth has started hugging my belly and saying, “Hi Abby-gail!  I love you baby Abbie!”  (Yeah, we haven’t really figured out how to spell the nickname… Oh well.)  It’s been very sweet being able to picture how our family will look come September!

Now, I’m bracing myself to tackle the rest of the summer’s busy season!  There are more weddings and family sessions coming your way soon, so stay tuned!  But for now, here’s a quick gender announcement (and some bump pictures)!
