Stephanie & Trevor – Married!

Rochester, New York

This weekend’s wedding was a very special one for me to shoot because the bride was Caleb’s younger sister!  Stephanie married Trevor at the gorgeous Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester and their wedding was an absolute dream!  There were so many moments of their day that I absolutely loved, that it made it really hard to pick which ones to share!

First, let me say that I have never cried so much at a wedding ever!  Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones, maybe it’s the fact that this was family – who knows?!  All I can say is that my tears started at the rehearsal dinner when Trevor’s mother shared the story of when she knew Steph would marry her son (a year before they even started dating!), and they didn’t stop until well into the reception.  There were so many tender moments during the course of this day, that I just couldn’t help myself!

There were two parts of Stephanie and Trevor’s wedding that I found especially touching.  The first was that, rather than doing a First Look, the couple opted to write letters to each other.  They each took a few moments to read the words their soon-to-be spouse had written to them and their reactions were so sweet!  Trevor’s letter made Stephanie so joyful and even got a few good laughs out of her, while Stephanie’s letter made Trevor tear up a bit.  It was one of the sweetest ways for them to have a private moment “together” and still not see each other until the walk down the aisle.

The other part of the day that I truly loved was their ceremony.  To start, how could you not smile watching five flower girls and two ring bearers come down the aisle?!  (Elizabeth was a flower girl and she LOVED it!)  When Stephanie started to walk down, Trevor started crying instantly and she was just beaming!  For their vows, Stephanie and Trevor decided to say both the traditional vows and personal ones.  Their words to each other were so sweet and it was evident that they would both do anything for the other person.  There were also some funny moments, like when Steph recalled the time she had told her sister that “Trevor Finnerty will make some woman a fine husband some day!”  Little did she know she would be that woman!

Stephanie and Trevor were one of the happiest couples I have ever photographed.  Their faces just radiated pure joy the entire day!  May the rest of their marriage reflect that same joy!   Here are some of my favorites from their Colgate Divinity School wedding.
