Sarah contacted me a few months ago with a dream of doing a maternity session in a sunflower field. I immediately said yes, because what photographer wouldn’t want to shoot such a joyful occasion in such a beautiful location? It turned out that scheduling such a session can be a bit tricky! A few weeks ago we were finally able to shoot their photos and I just love how they turned out!
Sarah and Andrew are going to be welcoming their first child, a little boy, in just a few weeks! Being pregnant myself, and due only a few weeks before Sarah, it was fun to talk with her about her experience so far. Sarah and Andrew were naturals in front of the camera – seriously, I barely instructed them at all! Their joy was obvious and Andrew made Sarah laugh throughout the session, which made for great photos! It was so sweet to photograph a couple that was so clearly in love, even after being married for a few years!
I have to admit, I had never been to a sunflower field before this session, let alone taken photos in one! We had planned on doing the session at the sunflower maze in Camillus, but it soon became clear that those flowers wouldn’t be blooming in time for the session. So I went on the hunt to find another location and stumbled across Oliver’s Produce in Marcellus! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the folks at Oliver’s! They were SO accommodating and generous! Not only did they let us use their fields, the owners kept me up to date on how the flowers were coming along and when they would be ready. Talk about going above and beyond! So, I have to give a huge THANK YOU to the owners at Oliver’s! Without them this session would not have been possible!
