2019 Goals!

It’s that time of year again!

Every time the new year rolls around, Caleb and I take time to make a list of goals for our family.  They aren’t resolutions, per se, but rather benchmarks that we’d like to achieve.   It’s a type of accountability for us, and helps remind us of where we started so that next year we can see our growth.

Last year I created a similar list for my business and I’m thrilled to say that I achieved most of them!  I hosted two giveaways, participated in a beautiful and fun styled shoot , offered mini sessions for Mother’s Day, and definitely upped my off-camera flash game.  This year, I also completely re-branded and redid my website!  It was a crazy year, and there was a lot of growth!

This year, having a new baby in the family, I’m planning on taking things a little slower, but there is still a lot I want to do!  So today, I’m sharing my 2019 goals!  Here goes!

  1. Continue to hone my workflows for weddings and portraits.  While I love the feeling of accomplishment after finishing a challenging task, planning your session should NOT be one of them! Work smarter, not harder, am I right?!
  2. Create a Welcome Guide for new wedding bookings.  This is something I’ve wanted to implement for a while and I’m excited to work on this during the slower winter months!
  3. Continue blogging once a week.  I took a brief maternity leave from blogging after having Abigail, but now I’m back!  This year, I’m excited to start a few new blog series in addition to sharing any new work.
  4. Up my social media presence.  This goal is long overdue.  I secretly hate social media, so I’ve been avoiding this for a while, but the truth is I have so much to share!  Plus with all that blogging, it shouldn’t be too hard, right?

That’s it!  While I’m incredibly proud of all that I achieved last year, I’m realizing that slow growth can sometimes create the strongest roots.  I’m ready to sit back and actually enjoy my hot cup of tea, read a book or two, and make memories with my two girls (and not just for the photo op)!  Above all this is the year of being present.

Cheers to a wonderful new year!
