I’m so excited to share today’s spring family session! I spent an evening with the Brandt family last weekend and had such a wonderful time photographing them. These guys are so fun and were such great sports! I literally could not be happier with how their photos turned out.
First of all, let’s talk about the weather. If you have been in Syracuse recently, chances are it was rainy, cold, and cloudy. Well, not on this day!!! It was sunny, relatively warm, and just the right amount of cloud cover. Driving over to the session I passed by people riding bikes, taking walks, and getting ice cream at the local ice cream stand. It was the quintessential spring day and perfect for pictures!
Now, let’s talk about how amazing this family is. Erica and Tommy have three children between the ages of 12 and 7. I’ve worked with quite a few families over the past few years, but I haven’t done too many sessions with school-aged children. Let me tell you, this was such a fun age to photograph! The kids not only cooperated beautifully, but were also a huge help to me with getting each other to laugh and smile for the camera. It really couldn’t have worked out better!
Working with the Brandts really got me thinking about what life might look like for our family in 10 years or so. To be honest, I’ve always thought that life would be less fun as the kids got older. It was really great to see the joy and laughter this family shared together in this stage, even in front of a camera! I’ve definitely found a new appreciation for the school years after working with the Brandts.
