Allison & Jake – Engaged!

Syracuse, New York

Guys, I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this session!  I love ALL of the couples that I photograph, but siblings are always my favorite!  Allison is Caleb’s youngest sister and is getting married in August!  When Allison and her fiance, Jake, asked if I would do some engagement photos for them before their big day, I said yes!

Ally was the first one of Caleb’s siblings that I met.  She was only 12, but we got along well right from the start!  I remember talking with her about life on the farm, her swimming league, and books!  We both love to read and we would recommend books to each other.  I recommended Jane Eyre for Ally (she thought it a bit dry); she recommended The Hunger Games for me (I wound up watching the movies). Although we struck out with the book recommendations, we remained good friends!

Over the past 8 years, I’ve gotten to watch Allison grow up quite a bit.  Since those first days she’s gone on to write and publish two books, graduated with her Bachelors degree, and met the love of her life!

We’ve all loved Jake from the moment Ally introduced us to him.  Not only is he smart and fun to be around, together they balance each other out and bring out each other’s best sides.  The love they share is evident (I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!), but so is their love for their families!  These two are generous with their time, making a point to come visit us despite being busy students, and their hearts (ask me about the birthday letters we receive each year).  I could not love these two more!

We did Allison and Jake’s engagement session at Syracuse University’s campus.  I’ve always wanted to shoot there because the grounds are gorgeous and there are great architectural features.  I’m absolutely thrilled with how these images turned out!

Here are my favorites from Allison and Jake’s engagement session at Syracuse University!
