Eli – Lifestyle Newborn Session at Shove Park

Camillus, New York

Baby Eli and his family are the focus of today’s blog post! I met up with Sarah and David and their kids last week to capture some images of their family and welcome their newest addition. We had such a fun time and I’m so excited about how their images turned out!

Believe it or not, this was actually my first OUTDOOR newborn session. Most of the time, I’m at the hospital or my client’s homes. There are many reasons for this (the weather, babies being sensitive to the sun, and needing a place to nurse and change them), but there really is nothing like the natural light you get outdoors! Sarah was sure that she wanted at least a few photos outside, so we found a park close to home, made sure it had shade and set a date!

The day of the session turned out to be a great day for photos. While it started out a little rainy, these guys were willing to give it a try! We met at Shove Park and got so many different combinations of photos. Big brothers, Tobin and Miles, were SO sweet with little Eli and with each other! (If you need proof, check out the shot of their bear hug!) They were some the best listeners and most cooperative kids I’ve worked with! I really had a fun time hanging out with them!

After some shots at the park, we headed back to their home to get some more relaxed shots. It always makes me happy seeing a new mom or dad rock their baby in their own rocking chair! It’s just so natural and sweet. I adore the photos taken in Eli’s nursery, especially the ones of Tobin holding Eli’s hand on the changing table!

I had such a great time getting to meet and photograph this little one. Here are my favorite images from Eli’s newborn session at Shove Park.
