This fall season has been one of the best Central New York has seen in a while. We’ve had so many beautiful, clear, crisp fall days – perfect for picking apples or pumpkins and going for walks surrounded by brightly colored leaves. Kelly and Kenny had one of these perfect fall days for their fall wedding at Orchard Vali this weekend. It was absolutely beautiful!
Let me start by saying how lovely this couple is. Kelly is incredibly sweet, friendly, and was a stunning bride! From the moment she arrived at the venue, I knew this was going to be a good day. Ken is more quiet than Kelly, but was one of the most cooperative grooms I’ve worked with. He was willing to endure so many portraits, even a few night time ones after the dancing began!
Ken and Kelly had an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. In every element of the day, you could tell how much they valued their guests. It was so clear that they wanted to spend time with every single person who was there to celebrate with them.
After each wedding, I always try to remember my favorite part of the day, and in this case I have two! The first was how Kelly and Kenny chose to honor their grandmothers. Ken’s grandmother, Marion, gave a reading during the ceremony that made everyone tear up just a bit. Kelly made it a point to dance with her grandma, Marilyn, during the reception. (Definitely make sure you check out those photos – they’re some of my favorites!)
My other favorite part of this wedding was the portrait time I had with the bride and groom. Ken is definitely a quiet guy. He keeps his emotions close to the chest and has a stoic demeanor about him. But when he first saw Kelly walking toward him during their First Look, he definitely lit up! Kenny might not have wanted to smile for me, but for Kelly his smile came completely naturally. I absolutely LOVE that.
Ken and Kelly, we wish you the most heartfelt congratulations! On our way home from your wedding, I told Caleb, “I can really see them in 50 years, still happily married.” It’s true. We may not have known you very long, but it is so evident that the love you share is meant to last a lifetime. Here’s to the first week and the next 50 years! Love, The Ludlows
