Last weekend I met up with the Cali family for a fall family session at Green Lakes State Park. Unbeknownst to all of us, this was also the weekend that the park was hosting their “Haunted Woods” Halloween event, so we were just seven of hundreds of people in the park! That didn’t stop us from having a great time, though!
When I arrived at the park, I realized quickly that my original plan for this session was not going to work. I had planned on a quiet fall evening where we would have the park mostly to ourselves, save a few hikers. As I waited in line to get into the park and watched car after car head down to the lake, I decided that we should avoid the crowds and head up to the woods and meadows. Thankfully Tricia and Jeremy were fine with that plan!
Even though I had never been on the wooded trails before, I was able to find some great light and the images turned out wonderfully! Tricia and Jeremy have four kids, and some of my favorite shots are the ones of the siblings together. This family is incredibly close and genuinely have fun together! The entire time they were laughing and making jokes, which made my job so much fun. Every time I photograph these guys (I also did Sophie’s senior photos and Gracie’s newborn photos), it makes me look forward to when my kids are older.
