We wrapped up our 2019 wedding season just in the nick of time with Amanda and Jason last weekend. These two had such a joy filled day and I’m so excited to be sharing their winter wedding at Orchard Vali today!
Amanda and Jason are one of the sweetest couples we have worked with, and they are also some of the most thoughtful. These two had a very specific vision for their day. They are probably the most organized SLP Couple we’ve had and, let me tell you, it payed off! Everyone knows that weddings never go to plan, but theirs did! We didn’t get behind schedule even once!
One of my favorite parts of Amanda and Jason’s day was their First Look. I never push a First Look on couples, but in this case I’m SO thankful they chose to do one. With the sun setting around 4:30 in the evening, a First Look was the only way to ensure that they got some outdoor portraits on their wedding day.
We did their First Look at Webster Pond. I was a little bit nervous about this location because when I had gone to scout it out, the pond was covered with HUNDREDS of ducks and geese! As soon as we approached they swarmed us! So I can’t tell you how thankful I was to see that the majority of the birds were gone on Amanda and Jason’s wedding day! (Although, if you look closely, you might see a duck or two in the background of their photos!)
One thing I always tell couples about First Looks is that every couple is unique. Some grooms will have a huge smile, some will tear up, others will just give the bride the biggest hug. You never know how it will turn out. Well, Jason’s reaction to seeing his bride was one of my favorite reactions yet! If there’s one series of photos you wont want to miss, it’s those ones!
My other favorite moments came just before the ceremony. Amanda and Jason wrote letters to each other and read them in private before the ceremony began. I always love when my couples do this! Amanda also requested that her family and bridesmaids pray with her before the ceremony. These photos are some of my absolute favorites. I love how you can see the tenderness and love that her family feels for her and Jason. Hearing their prayers for a long and happy marriage was so sweet and encouraging and really set the stage for the rest of the day.
