Business Refresh with Kerri Lynne Education

Cazenovia, New York

If you’ve been following me for a few years, you know that every year I make goals for my business. Well this year I went a little beyond goal making and signed up for a Business Refresh course taught by my friend Kerri Lynne! Kerri put together the most amazing workshop AND styled shoot and I’m excited to share all about it today!

2019 was a year of growth for Samantha Ludlow Photography! While I’m SO incredibly grateful for all of my clients and couples, I left the year feeling a bit drained – both physically and creatively. This off-season, I want to optimize the systems I have in place so that I can better serve my 2020 couples without getting burned out!

To help me achieve this goal, I signed up for a Business Refresh course through Kerri Lynne Education. Kerri is a local photographer who also has a line of photography courses. Her business course was designed to help photographers figure out where the value in their business lies, how to create more value for their clients, and figuring out where to improve or expand their business! This is exactly what I’m trying to work on this season, so this course was a perfect fit!

I’ll be sharing some of my main take-aways from the course in a separate “2020 goals” post, but the thing I’ll remember the most was this: Don’t be so worried about the clients you don’t have that you forget to love the clients you do have well! I’m so excited to be heading into the 2020 season with the mentality of serving and loving my couples even better than before!

The second part of this course was a styled shoot. A styled shoot is like a mock wedding where vendors in every category participate to create a beautifully styled wedding set-up. This part of the course was planned by my friend Carianne of Events by Carianne and was hosted at RedBarn20 in Cazenovia. She designed the shoot around the theme of Iceland and the result was STUNNING! The decor was filled with so many beautiful shades of blue, white, and grey. There were unique textures such as geodes and velvet table cloths and the design felt both modern and elegant.

Here are some of my favorite images from this Business Refresh course!
