Quarantine Update

Pennellville, New York

We are on day 60-something of quarantine, which means we’ve been home for over two months now! Of course, I haven’t been able to photograph any sessions during this time, but I thought I’d share some updates on what we’ve been doing here at home!

Staying home was a big adjustment for us! Not only has Caleb been working from home 2-3 days per week, but the kids haven’t really been out of the house at all! Before COVID, we would do playdates, take trips to the zoo, visit the library, or play at the park a few times a week. Thankfully, they’ve adjusted well. There have been days where boredom gets the best of them, but mostly they are learning to play together!

Honestly, that has been the biggest blessing of this whole ordeal – increased time as a family! Sure, we’re still plenty “busy” (ask me about all the Zoom calls we do each week), but we get to do most of our work together. We have gotten to work on projects together, play together, and solve problems together. There are still many days when we wish we could see faces other than our own, but overall I’m pretty happy that these are the people I’m stuck with! 🙂

Here are some of the highlights from our quarantine:

  • Lots of time outside!!
  • Carving out a garden on the south lawn, planting seeds, weeding, laying tarp, etc.
  • Building a swing set for the kids!
  • Having fancy tea parties.
  • Taking walks together.
  • Coloring, so much coloring.
  • Making and playing with playdough.
  • Baking everything you can think of!
  • Yard work galore.
  • Finishing some indoor projects. Hello, overhead lighting!

Below are a few photos I’ve taken over the weeks. I haven’t documented everything, but here are some favorite moments!
