The moment I walked into the church where Kamie and Aaron were getting married, I knew it was going to be a good day. Of course, everyone was overjoyed to be celebrating, but these two were just SO READY to marry each other and their excitement was contagious!
I started communicating with Kamie and Aaron in March about their plans for their wedding day. With COVID-19 looming on the horizon, none of us were sure what the end of May would bring. However, they were both insistent that they did NOT want to reschedule. These two have been dreaming of their wedding day for well over a year and they just couldn’t wait any longer to tie the knot!
So instead of the larger wedding they had planned, they turned their day into a socially-distanced celebration. They were able to have all of their bridal party stand up with them (six feet apart, of course) and changed the ceremony location to the lawn in front of the church so friends could watch from their cars. Instead of a 200-person reception, they invited their closest friends to a socially-distanced picnic at Fair Haven State Park.
Despite all the changes in plans, the day went off beautifully! First of all, the weather was PERFECT! The parking lot of the church was packed full of cars watching Kamie and Aaron’s ceremony and when they got to the First Kiss, the whole group honked their horns together. It was one of those moments that brought tears to my eyes! It was easy to see how loved Kamie and Aaron are, even from a distance!
I had so many favorite memories from this wedding, but here are a few that stand out: The way Kamie teared up (and also laughed) reading Aaron’s letter before the ceremony… The surprise reading of a poem that was found in Kamie’s grandmother’s Bible during the ceremony (not a dry eye in the house)… And, of course, all the fishing details tied in throughout the day!
