Today I’m sharing another large family photo session. While many photographers try to avoid these sessions (it is a lot of work!), they are some of my favorite things to shoot! The Antuna family gathered for their extended family session at Onondaga Park and I love how their photos turned out!
First, let me say that, despite there being 17 people there, this was one of the easiest groups I’ve ever worked with! They all arrived on time or early, were all well coordinated (you can read more tips for coordinating family photo outfits here), and were ready to get started right away! With large family sessions, we spend a lot of time doing formal poses, but these guys had fun through all of it. Even the kids cooperated!
This session was given as a gift to MaryAnn and Joseph by their children for their 50th wedding anniversary! They had originally planned a large vacation, but had to cancel their plans due to the pandemic. Instead, the family gathered in Syracuse to celebrate with a nice dinner at home and some updated family pictures. I loved getting to meet these two and their family!
All of the Antuna’s children live outside of Syracuse, some as far as Massachusetts, so they don’t often get to be together. Coming from a large family myself, I know how hard it is to get everyone together in one spot. It was such a treat to get to capture these images for them!
