Lisa & Jake

Engagement Session at the Oswego Bluffs

Lisa and Jake are on the blog today!! I’ve been in contact with these two for over a year and it felt SO GOOD to finally meet in person! We did their engagement session at the Oswego Bluffs and I loved every moment of it!

One thing I always look forward to in running my business is the engagement session. I love getting to finally put a face to names of my couples, chat with them, and get to know them better while we shoot. Lisa and Jake have such an easy manner about them that we got to chatting right away! I got to hear even more of their engagement story (Jake proposed on his brother’s boat in the Thousand Islands – dreamy, right?) and hear how wedding planning is going.

Lisa and Jake’s session was also fun because it was an entirely new location for me! Guys, we may live in Oswego County now, but we have not explored much north of our farm. Lake Ontario, while gorgeous, seems like a foreign country to me! To know that this area is pretty much right in our backyard was so exciting to me!

The bluffs are a place that is special for Lisa and were the location of one of their first dates, so it was a great choice for their photos. One thing that was surprising to me what how much variety there was in that one location. We started their photos in the woods, then hiked our way up to the top of the bluffs (and Lisa hiked up the path in HEELS!), and then made our way back to the water as the sun was setting. Each location has its own feel to it and their images reflect that. It was SO hard to choose which images to feature here because I just love so many!

Here are my favorites from Lisa and Jake’s engagement session!
