The Pinter Family – Winter Extended Family Session at Our Farm

Pennellville, New York

I love photographing extended family sessions, especially when I know one of the families involved! I had photographed our friends, Sarah and David, and their kids a few years ago when their littlest was born. This year, Sarah reached out with the idea of doing an extended family session this winter over the holidays. It was so much fun meeting the whole Pinter crew and having them to our farm!

David is one of three brothers (can you tell by the photos that they’re related?!?!) and all of their families were able to come together for these photos. Scheduling photo sessions around the holidays can be tricky for everyone, but in this case it worked out perfectly!

I was hoping that there would be some snow for this session, but instead we were blessed with a pretty mild afternoon. This made being outside so much better for all the kids involved! There were nine kids total between the three families and it was fun getting to see all of their personalities! I tried to do a “mini session” of each individual family in front of the barn, before doing group shots in the field.

Some of my favorite shots from this session are of David’s parents, Ted and Sharon! One of my favorite things about extended family sessions is how they bring multiple generations together. I love the shots of Ted and Sharon with their grandkids and Ted with his sons. What a wonderful family they have built!

Here are my favorite moments from the Pinter’s winter extended family session!
