What do you do when the Sweet 16 birthday party of your dreams gets cancelled due to COVID? You reschedule, of course! Emily celebrated turning 18 in style with a red carpet themed birthday party in downtown Syracuse.
The first thing I noticed about Emily was her incredible sense of style. She and her mother, Renee, planned one of the most beautiful parties I have ever seen. They transformed the Finger Lakes Ballroom at the Marriott in downtown Syracuse into a scene right out of Hollywood. I felt like I was walking into a Oscars after party rather than an 18th birthday!
Renee and Emily thought of every detail. The first thing that guests saw when entering the room was a classic red carpet photo station. I had so much fun taking photos of Emily with her guests as they arrived! There were light hors d’oeuvres and finger foods, as well as a stunning dessert table. The bakers at Gingersnap Bakery created a stunning cake that evoked feelings of Old Hollywood glamour, along with macaroons and other treats. Feathers and rhinestones decorated the cocktail tables. Meanwhile, Emily’s theatrical senior photos (taken by a sweet friend of mine, H Hawkins Photography) completed the movie star look.
If you couldn’t tell from the party’s theme, Emily loves theater and to perform. Along with her senior classmates, she celebrated with many of her friends from the Christian School of Performing Arts. She and her guests spent the evening dancing, taking photos in front of the selfie station, and sipping on the most amazing gourmet milkshakes. It’s safe to say that this is a party that will be remembered for a long time!
