Cazenovia, New York
Last weekend Caleb and I had the honor of photographing Gail and Rich for their vow renewal in Cazenovia. This was the first time I’d photographed a renewal and I have to say – I loved it!
The entire day was a surprise for Gail. Rich and their daughters had been planning for months – getting a cake, hiring vendors, and selecting the Lincklaen House as the perfect venue. They truly thought of everything!
On the day of the renewal they surprised Gail, letting her in on all the day’s events. The girls had picked out a variety of dresses for Gail to choose from and had hair and make-up waiting for her. After getting ready at the Lincklaen House, all they had to do was head downstairs to the ceremony and reception!
An intimate group of Rich and Gail’s family and friends were there to celebrate with them. Their grandsons led the procession as the cutest ring bearers and their son-in-law performed the renewal ceremony. During the ceremony Rich had another surprise waiting for Gail – a new diamond ring!
Following the ceremony they shared a first dance and then were able to visit with guests. We made sure to pull them outside to take some photos of just the two of them as well. We had been told that they did not have a “big wedding” the first time, so it was special to get some great shots of them now. Having been married for 30 years, Gail and Rich’s love for one another shows in each photo!
As I was editing these photos I told Caleb that if he ever wanted to do a vow renewal, that this is how I would want it. A sweet surprise where everything was taken care of. A true celebration of love. An intimate gathering of the closest friends and family. It couldn’t be more perfect!
