Most people would say that the middle of a major life change is not the best time to get updated family photos. That is, unless you’re a new parent. In the midst of the sleepless nights, constant feedings, and family adjustments you all invite me into your homes to DOCUMENT this life change! This is one reason why at home newborn sessions are always so special to me!
Janette and Titus welcomed their son two weeks ago and I had the privilege of meeting him and photographing their sweet family. When I walked into their home I was immediately struck by how peaceful it felt! At my house, the newborn phase generally equals chaos, so walking in to a calm, quiet home was such a sweet surprise!
Big sister, Laylie, was a great welcoming party as I got set up for the session! As we got started, we discovered that she shares a birthday as my little Christopher! Such a small world!! Laylie was SO good during the photos, giving sweet kisses to her brother and always being willing to help me.
Little Theo was an absolute dream to photograph! He was so calm, even when he was wide awake! I love the photos of him and Laylie on the bed, as well as the close up shots of his tiny fingers, toes, and beautiful head of hair!
Every one of these photos showcases the love that this family has for each other. I adore the ones of Janette and Theo by the window. I also love the way the images of Titus holding Theo give a sense of how small Theo is! This is such a sweet time and always a privilege for me to photograph!
